16th C. Medieval Flower Pendant | LaNae Fine Jewelry

It’s no secret that Vikings loved their jewelry. They adorned themselves with a variety of personal items crafted from bronze, silver and gold. Their jewelry was chunky and heavy, it was made to withstand the rigors of battle and to proudly proclaim their heritage and riches. The vikings made jewelry by the technique “lost wax” method. Norse jewelry was very simple. Eventually the Vikings created beautiful, intricate pieces, but there was a total lack of set stones. Jewelry was worn for adornment but was also a means of exchange and used to seal friendships and alliances. This Viking medal has diamond inlay filling the original shape of the flower. The bezel has 1.50 tcw of Diamonds, 14k Yellow gold 1.65g, and rhodium sterling silver.
